Wedding Blog

On a gorgeous late afternoon in the Florida winter, Kellie and Franklin stood in the courtyard of Bella Collina and said “I do” among all of their family and friends. The sunset was low in the sky, touching the very tops of the trees. Its soft glow cast glittery rays of sunlight across all of the guests. This was the perfect start to a beautiful golden Bella Collina wedding! The night only got better from there.

Courtyard Ceremony

The outdoor scenery at Bella Collina was simply breathtaking. The grandiose exterior wall of stonework, accented with gorgeous architecture, was a stunning backdrop for any wedding. Unquestionably, Kellie and Franklin’s special day on Sunday, January 16, 2022 was no exception. The ceremony was elegant, with beautifully placed floral blooms. The bride and groom looked simply divine in their traditional wedding attire. You couldn’t have asked for a more picture-perfect day!

Soundwave Set Up

After stepping into the Bella ballroom, you could see that our team had been hard at work. In the background, 24 LED Wall Uplights set to “warm glow” for this golden Bella Collina wedding shone brilliantly. They bathed the room in the warmth of gentle candlelight. In addition, we highlighted the wedding cake with a Pinspot Light. After our couples spend so much care and consideration choosing their cakes, we don’t want them to go unnoticed!

Time to Celebrate

As the guests filtered into the reception, Soundwave Owner DJ Les Kopasz was ready to go. First came the introductions of the wedding party and newlyweds. And can you guess what song they had picked for this moment? That’s right, Golden, by Harry Styles welcomed them to the room and straight into their first dance. Coming Home, by Leon Bridges had everyone feeling sentimental as the new couple held each other on the dance floor. After welcomes, speeches, and a blessing, it was time to eat! During dinner, we played a music mix based on the iconic soundtrack from “Guardians of the Galaxy.” It has always been a crowd favorite! Next, as the meal finished, the newlyweds each danced with their parents. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house! Then, we took a sharp left turn for some much-needed dancing relief!

Turn It Up

Is it just us, or has Whitney Houston’s iconic “IIIIIIII wanna dance with somebody!” become the universal call to the dance floor? This golden throwback was an excellent kick off for dancing. From there, DJ Les kept up the older hits from artists like The Beatles, Elton John and even 80’s hairbands. In addition, current hits came into play. The couple requested early 2000s pop hit like “Yeah” by Usher, and DJ Les made it all fit seamlessly for a night to remember. Our dance lights brought the perfect touch of energy against the warm, cozy ambiance of our golden Bella Collina wedding.

That’s a Wrap!

Finally, after everyone has danced the night away, DJ Les played our second to last song, Don’t Stop Believing, by Journey. After this crowd favorite, the call for final song came in with Shut Up and Dance, by Walk the Moon. Whew! What an unforgettable evening. We played soft music as guests filtered through the exit to prepare for the bride and groom’s send off. Meanwhile, the newlyweds stole a special intimate moment for a private dance to La Vie En Rose, by Louis Armstrong. Lastly, guests held their sparklers high as Kellie and Franklin ran hand-in-hand towards their happily ever after.

Shani and Matthew’s icy blue wedding at Bella Collina warmed our hearts. On December 8, 2021 we helped these newlyweds celebrate in grand style. Our lighting options created a perfect balance of intimate warmth and winter hues. And our very own DJ and Owner Les Kopasz, spun out the best tunes for a mix that was not too hot and not too cold.

Outdoor Ceremony

First, the wedding began with A River Flows in You, by Yiruma as the wedding party glided to their places. Next, the bride walked down the aisle to a gorgeous classic, Canon in D, by Brooklyn Duo.  Among family and friends, Shani and Matthew said “I do” after exchanging hand-written vows. They stood beneath a decorative arch, decorated in greenery and blooms of soft pastels, draped in wintery shades of ice blue, all to echo Shani’s stunning bouquet. After they exchanged their vows, All of Me, by Daniel Jang played to cheer the newlyweds back up the aisle towards their new future. Next, guests partook in cocktail hour at the Bella Collina Reflection Pool, enlivened by a custom 2000s Pop Instrumental Mix.

Reception Lighting and Design

Peeking into Bella Collina’s ballroom, we saw the same color schemes to perfectly compliment the icy blue wedding palette. Soft pastels and wintery hues once again thoughtfully displayed among the decor.  Soundwave set up 24 LED Wall Uplights in very soft icy blue. Second, our pinspot lights shown on the newlywed table and the cake table. Pinspot lights help draw attention and focus, and it was all eyes on the bride and groom! The Designer DJ Front Board in Walnut tied the image together with elegance.

Raise a Glass to the Bride and Groom

Happy guests filtered in and found their seats. DJ Les introduced the couples while Happy, by Pharrell Williams played. Finally, the new Mr. and Mrs. Mattera were announced and guests clapped and cheered. The happy couple shared a romantic moment during their first dance to “Truly Madly Deeply” by Savage Garden. Next, Matthew hopped on the mic to welcome their guests. Then, each of their fathers took turns giving a heart-felt toast. The best man and co-maids of honor finished off the toasts, and everyone drank to the newlyweds’ future together. Sugar Pie Honey Bunch, by Four Tops set the playful vibe as the couple ceremoniously cut into their wedding cake. Just when we thought we were done with the tears, the groom danced with his mother to My Wish by Rascal Flatts and the bride danced with her father to You Raise Me Up by Celtic Woman.

Time to Celebrate

Finally, one of our personal favorite moments began. Dimming the lights always seems to be the universal signal for “time to turn it up” – and we love it! DJ Les took full advantage of his time to shine, playing a perfectly curated mix specifically for the Matteras.  The bride and groom requested a slightly reserved vibe, and we delivered. Classic disco, 70’s – 80’s rock and hairbands, 80’s – 90’s throwbacks, early 2000s hits, and current chart toppers spun all night. Songs like Shivers, by Ed Sheeran; You and I, by John Legend; Killing Me Softly, by Joseph Vincent, and of course Can’t Help Falling in Love, by none other than Elvis Presley wrapped us all up in the energy of the night.

Saying Goodbye

Matthew and Shani requested Best Day of My Life, by American Authors as the second-to-last song. Full of that feeling of wanting to make the most of every special moment, everyone piled to the dance floor for one last song. Living on a Prayer, by Bon Jovi carried us off into the night.  As the guests exited the ballroom, they made their way to the valet area for a grand farewell with sparklers.   During this time, once the ballroom was totally empty,  Matt and Shani had one last private dance together to You are the Reason, by Calum Scott and Leona Lewis. Lastly, the newlyweds appeared at the exit and ran joyfully down one last aisle, yet again. The crowd of smiling, cheering faces and sparkling lights sent Matthew and Shani Mattera off into the night to begin their new future together. What a beautiful evening!

On December 27, 2021, just a few days after Christmas, Cary and David said “I Do” at Paradise Cove, Orlando, with all of the personal touches you’d want in a Magical Winter Wedding. Complete with whimsical Disney Instrumental music and Harry Potter themes throughout, it was a night to remember.

The Outdoor Ceremony

First, a harpist welcomed the guests in with warm, inviting melodies. Next, like a scene from your favorite action movie, “The Final Countdown” by Europe interjected as the groom and his groomsmen pulled up in a speed boat. After their arrival, the harpist resumed the ceremony soundtrack for the bridesmaids, the bride, and the recessional. We loved the view at the altar with the tall trees, hanging Spanish moss, and lakeside background. Don’t forget, outdoor doesn’t have to mean bad acoustics! Thanks to our ceremony speaker system and the lavaliere microphone worn by the officiant, guests heard the vows loud and clear.

Time to Celebrate

Afterward, we moved underneath the pavilion, lit up with twinkle lights as far as the eye could see. The ambiance was truly perfect for a magical winter wedding. The sweetheart table had quotes from Harry Potter and his and hers magic wands. No doubt that Ollivander himself couldn’t have picked a more perfect setting to suit our bride and groom! They shared their first dance to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Tony Bennett. Next, our reception system of speakers and microphones allowed for flawless speeches from both the maid of honor and best man.

While we might not have actual floating candles like at Hogwarts, we did bring some magic of our own with Soundwave LED Lighting. Thoughtfully placed around the reception, each one gave off a candlelit, ethereal glow. In the background, 4 LED Lights amped up the winter vibes with blue tones on the trees. And we can’t forget the cake! But how could you, when it’s lit up with our cake spot light? Music and lighting to fit the mood, plus good food, made for a dazzling and memorable magical winter wedding. If that wasn’t magical enough, the plated meal was enjoyed during a custom Disney Instrumental Mix from our own DJ / MC Ray Vales. Afterward, the cake cutting was to “Hedwig’s Theme” by John Williams from Harry Potter. The music was just perfect to make our Potterhead bride and groom dreams come true!

Get Your Groove On

Regardless of your favorite part of weddings, when that bass starts pumping, and our dance lights start poppin, you start dancing! DJ/ MC Ray Vales delivered a mix of 60-80’s rock, country, Latin vibes with salsa and merengue, and 90’s-2000’s Pop and Hip Hop. Tons of crowd participation favorites kept us on our toes with classics like “Cupid Shuffle,” “Electric Slide,” “Cha Cha Slide,” and “Shout.” Special requests from the bride and groom included hits like “Shake Your Body” by Michael Jackson, “Right Thurr” by Chingy, “Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It” by Dem Franchise Boyz, and even “Fat Lip” by Sum 41.

Among all the dancing was another crowd favorite: our Digital Photo Booth! It captured magical moments from guests and texted the pictures instantly. What a great way to break up the evening while keeping the energy high! Also, the prop table provided extra laughs for each shot.

Send Off

DJ Ray Vales made the last call for dancing, and everyone gave it their all to “Never Gonna Give You Up” by none other than Rick Astley. What a great night! Guests gathered their belongings and headed to the exit. The new Mr. and Mrs. Valdes shared one last Harry Potter tribute moment with their wands to seal their Magical Winter wedding. The bride and groom waved goodbye to their friends and family as a symbolic cascade of bubbles and good fortune rained down. And the day ended just as it started, with a speed boat zooming off into the horizon. Congratulations, Cary and David! May all your dreams come true.

What better way to celebrate your marriage than a luxurious dance party wedding with 100 of your closest friends? Hillary and Tom’s high-energy celebration at Luxmore Grande Estate on October 23, 2021 was a night to remember. Our DJ Justin kept the hits playing and the vibes coming with a custom mix to elevate this wedding to dance party status.

Breathtaking Outdoor Ceremony

The bride and groom exchanged vows beneath a stunning floral arch. The officiant wore our lavalier microphone tucked into his tie so guests could hear the fullness of this intimate moment. Next, guests enjoyed cocktails and live music while awaiting the second half of the celebration.

A Reception to Remember

After guests arrived to their seats, DJ Justin of Soundwave kicked it off with the welcome and introduction. “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC played as first the parents, then the wedding party, and finally the bride and groom made their entrance. Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Hillary Lemaster went right into their first dance to “Baby I’m Yours” by Arctic Monkeys. Next, the bride and her father danced to the classic, “My Girl” by The Temptations. Following, the groom and his mother danced to “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw. After a fabulous meal by exclusive caterer, Big City Catering, the newlyweds cut the wedding cake to “Juice” by Lizzo which brought the energy up and kick started the dance party!

Time to Dance

The lights turned down and the dance party turned up! In the background, our dance lights highlighted the energy we all felt. A wild ride of 60’s-80’s rock, 90’s-2000’s throwback hits, and a few classics including “Africa” by Toto and “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen kept bodies groovin’. Our final farewell was to none other than “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. Every guest was sure to “hold on to that feeling” from this timeless and luxurious dance party wedding. But, after the guests gathered their belongings and cleared the room, Hillary and Tom returned to the dance floor. Three minutes for Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love” gave the bride and groom a moment in time to cherish the beginning of their new life together. What a beautiful life it will be!

For this wedding at the Alfond Inn, the bride and groom combined the luxurious greenery of an outdoor ceremony with the warm candle-light vibes of an indoor reception. Marissa and Michael tied the knot on November 13, 2021, in a gorgeous outdoor garden. The bride, groom and guests partied all night under a picturesque warm glow. Dancing came easily with a perfect mix of throwbacks and current hits to create a night to remember for this perfectly glowing romantic wedding.

Gorgeous Outdoor Ceremony

The wedding festivities started outside in the Alfond Inn garden, surrounded by beautiful natural greenery and a warm Florida Fall sky. After performing ceremony sound checks, we began the custom instrumental selection to set the romantic mood as guests arrived. The processional started with a love song. Marissa, the beautiful bride, walked down the aisle to “Canon in D” by Brooklyn Duo. The bride and groom stood on the steps of the terrace and said “I Do” among family and friends. Guests didn’t miss a single word thanks to our discreet lavaliere microphone, which blended seamlessly into the collar of the officiant’s outfit for a clean look. Cocktails followed with a cool, upbeat mix of Jazz Pop Instrumental music.

Cozy Meets High-Energy Reception

Inside, the ballroom was illuminated with soft, candle-light vibes. Our 24 LED Wall Upights lining the room created the perfect ambiance for a glowing romantic wedding. After DJ David had the honor of introducing the parents and wedding party, Mr. and Mrs. Gover entered the reception to resounding applause and smiling faces. Next, they shared their first dance to “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele.  Our lighting features are an excellent way to direct your guests’ attention, and all eyes were on the newlyweds’ table with two pinspot lights. We also highlighted the cake table and six tall centerpieces so all of the little details wouldn’t be lost. DJ David’s sound equipment was shielded by our Designer Boxwood Front Board to tie in the whole look of the room.

Dancing and More Dancing

The couple requested a custom mix of 70 – 80’s Rock, some Disco/Funk, 90’s and early 2000’s Pop & Hip Hop, and current hits. DJ David delivered with clean, radio edited versions of some of our favs, plus special picks from bride and groom. “Levitating” by Dua Lipa, “Danza Kuduro” by Don Omar ft. Lucenzo, the classic “Shout” by Otis Day, and so much more made their list. After drinks, dance, food, dance, cake and more dance, it was time to say goodbye. We danced one last time to none other than Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.” Then, guests lit sparklers and cheered as we sent the new Mr. and Mrs. Gover off. Finally, Marissa and Michael shared one last private dance under the glowing romantic lighting, “You Are In Love” by Taylor Swift.

The most spectacular setting at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando made for a beautiful wedding for Lauren and Pete on December 6, 2021. The bride and groom exchanged their vows outside on the rolling lawn area, featuring a bright, white setting and fresh florals. Soundwave Owner DJ Les Kopasz played a selection of prelude music before announcing that the ceremony was about to begin.  The processional began to A Thousand Years by The Piano Guys, captivating 80 of Lauren and Pete’s closest friends and family. The bride looked  stunning as she linked arms with her father to walk down the aisle toward her groom. With beautiful moments captured by the extremely talented photographer Brandon Kari, the couple recited their vows before saying, ” I do.” Now officially husband and wife, Lauren and Pete paraded down the aisle joyfully to This Will Be An Everlasting Love by Natalie Cole.

A Reception to Perfection at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando

Large windows and stunning chandeliers hallmark the elegance of the Four Seasons Palm Ballroom.  Soundwave provided an elegant LED Lighting Design that included 24 lights in a gentle, icy blue. In addition, 18 pinspot lights were carefully placed around the reception space to highlight specific features like the centerpieces, the newlywed’s table, and the wedding cake. Finally, mini uplights were added to the gorgeously-crafted tree centerpieces from Lee Forrest Designs. The entire room was transformed, and included personal touches organized by Runway Events. Additionally, DJ Les provided his all-white designer DJ system, which he calls “The Optimus,” that matched the couples decor perfectly with added lighting enhancements.

Cool and Classic Mix with Soundwave DJ Les

Of course, wedding guests of all ages showed their love of dancing late into the night.  Soundwave Owner DJ Les kept the dance floor full with a completely classic list of music curated by the couple. The mix featured incredible attention to detail, as all songs played were from before the 1980s. Guests loved the throwbacks, oftentimes singing the melodies aloud.  From classic rock, sing alongs, to motown, disco, funk, pop and hip hop, DJ Les kept guests dancing for 3 hours!

Digital Photo Booth Was a Huge Hit

Soundwave Entertainment’s Digital Photo Booth is always a guest favorite, providing fun signature photos from the event that they can cherish. Because it’s digital, guests immediately can send images to their social media.  After the wedding, Soundwave provides all the images to the couple via an easy dropbox.

Highlighting a Grand Reception Space Soundwave Lighting

While the newlyweds enjoyed a cocktail hour with guests on the outdoor terrace,  Soundwave DJ Ray Vales complemented the natural setting with a Tropical Deep House Instrumental Mix.  As the cocktail hour wound down, guests entered the reception space for the introduction of the wedding party and the newlyweds. The grand ballroom lived up to its name with some design help from Soundwave’s Lighting Team. Forty wall uplights gently illuminated the space in purple and amber hues. Easy Love by Sigala played as the wedding party and the newlyweds entered the glamorous space. After the guests settled into their seats, the new husband and wife shared a sweet first dance to I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Tyler Ward.

The love, laughter, and dancing kept coming at Benjamin and Allison’s wedding at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. Their October 30th, 2021 wedding had it all: a romantic ceremony outdoors, extensive LED Lighting indoors, and even a photo booth for guests to make their own memories with the newlyweds.

Outdoor Ceremony on a Perfect Fall Day

The ceremony for this Central Florida wedding took place outside with a beautiful backdrop of palm trees and blue skies. The bride entered to Good for Me by Above & Beyond and she met her groom under a floral arch. After Ben and Allison exchanged their vows, they sealed their new union with a kiss. They made their way back up the aisle as husband and wife, while Soundwave DJ Justin played Happy Together by The Turtles.

Cocktails and Soundwave Lighting Design Magic

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails while listening to a custom playlist. The vibe was fun and easygoing, with songs like Knee Deep by the Zac Brown Band and Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. The bride and groom enjoyed a sneak peak of their reception space before anyone else arrived, giving them a chance to see their reception design come to life.

Soundwave’s lighting design team had a lot of fun setting up the design for this space. The reception area featured 30 wall uplights in a soft white set against a soft blue drape. We provided over 15 Pinspots …each table centerpiece was illuminated, along with the wedding cake and newlywed table. Dance lights included large and small Moving Heads, with the larger Moving Heads mounted on totems.

The space was beautifully done and allowed for flexibility throughout the night. Whether the newlyweds needed soft, romantic lighting for their first dance – or dance lights and a booming bass for the afterparty – our design was ready for action.

Soundwave DJ Introductions and Formal Dances

Soundwave’s very own DJ Justin kicked off the introductions with One More Time by Daft Punk. Guests cheered as the parents of the newlyweds entered, followed by members of the wedding party. Finally, it was time to announce the new husband and wife!

The newlyweds took to the dance floor, enjoying their first dance to Twirl Me by Wildlight (feat. The Polish Ambassador and Ayla Nereo.) After the first dance, Allison was joined by her father for the father-daughter dance. Benjamin and his mother followed with their own dance, and then Ben shared a dance with Allison’s grandmother, swaying to Forever Young by Rod Stewart.

Dinner and Dancing, and AFTER PARTY for This Wedding at Hilton Bonnet Creek

After a welcome by the bride’s father and a blessing by the groom’s father, it was time to eat! Guests were treated to a plated dinner, and enjoyed heartfelt toasts from the best man and from Allison’s brother. Soundwave DJ Justin hosted an anniversary dance to songs like This I Promise You by *NSYNC and I Swear by John Montgomery. The couple cut their cake…and then it was time to dance the night away!

Unique to this wedding, the beginning of the reception, from 9:00 – 10:30pm, featured a music vibe of pop hits for all ages. Then at 10:30 the AFTER PARTY KICKED!  Soundwave DJ Justin went into total club mode with heavy mixing and scratching!  We turned off all the lights in the ballroom, increased the volume, turned on the subwoofer, and provided an extravaganza of dance lights changing to the music beat, mini Moving Heads and Large Scale Moving Heads  …total high energy with a mix of house, EDM, techno, and hip hop.

Some of the songs during the After Party included…

Cinema – Benny Benassi (Skrillex Remix)
Everytime We Touch – Cascada (Hardwell & Maurice West Remix)
Get Low – Ying Yang Twins, Lil Jon
Heads Will Roll – Yeah Yeah Yeahs (A-Trak Remix Radio)
I Could Be the One – Avicii & Nicky Romero
Pursuit of Happiness – (Extended Steve Aoki Remix) Kid Cudi
Take Over Control – Afrojack

A highlight of the evening was our digital photo booth. Guests gathered around, doned some of the provided props, and smiled big. Our photo booth is always a hit at events, and gives guests a unique way to remember that special celebration!

Eventually, it was time to wind down the celebrations. This wedding at Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando was definitely one for the books, and we were honored to be part of this incredible day!

Deborah and Ryan’s Royal Crest Room wedding was truly a regal celebration from start to finish! The Royal Crest Room sits around lavish water features, and the mossy green golf course in Central Florida is full of charm. It’s hard to go wrong with this venue, and Deborah and Ryan’s November 20, 2021 wedding was no exception.

Getting the Party Started

After an intimate outdoor ceremony at the all white trellis that sits with the golf course in the backdrop, cocktails were served patio area under the market lights. Soundwave Entertainment’s DJ Justin set the stage for a grand entrance into the ballroom, with our Illuminated DJ Front Board. Soundwave provided 18 LED wall uplights throughout the ballroom in a warm, candlelight tone. As guests took their seats, Get the Party Started by Pink kicked off the wedding party introductions and the reception

DJ Justin introduced the newlyweds just before they shared their first dance as husband and wife to You Had Me From Hello by Kenny Chesney. After the first dance concluded, guests joined the couple in two more songs. Perfect by Ed Sheeran began the set, followed by I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas.

When the Bride Becomes the DJ

As the night went on, guests enjoyed a few surprises from this fun bride and groom. During the anniversary dances, DJ Justin wished a happy anniversary to two of the couples who were on the dance floor. And at one point, the bride even took a turn behind the DJ booth, having fun at the mic and giving her friends and family some dance mixes.

Finally, this Royal Crest Room wedding closed with an impressive surprise…an actual fireworks display! Afterward, the bride and groom returned to the ballroom for one last dance in private, swaying to The Rest of Our Lives by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Then, it was time to complete the incredible day with a sparkler send off!

A Spooktacular Wedding at the Orlando Science Center

We had so much fun being part of Erika and Dustin’s October 31, 2021, Halloween wedding at the Orlando Science Center. It was a spooktacular event, set among the celestial bodies of the Planet Room and the towering bones of dinosaurs.

The ceremony took place in the Planet Room.  The 75 guests took to their seats and the music Imperial March, and Mad World ushered in the wedding party. The bride and groom exchanged vows under a picturesque full moon, with an exit to an instrumental This is Halloween.

BOOsey Custom Cocktails in the Dino Room

It’s not every day that you celebrate your wedding on your favorite holiday. In keeping with the theme for this Halloween wedding, 18 lights in an array of purple from Soundwave’s lighting team illuminated the reception space. In keeping with the unique atmosphere of the event, Soundwave Owner, DJ Les played a custom-curated Halloween playlist for the bride and groom.

Ghouls Gather for This Halloween Wedding

As the reception began, DJ Les announced the wedding party to Ghostbusters by Ray Park Junior. The newlyweds entered the room and enjoyed a first dance to Into My Arms by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. After a heartfelt welcome message from the parents of the bride, DJ Les played more handpicked Halloween favorites during the plated dinner. Purple velvet dressed the couple’s sweetheart table. Matching purple wall uplighting added to the themed event. The wedding party surprised everyone with a rendition of Beetlejuice, performed by the bride and groom with the help of the entire bridal party and a few guests.

I Put a Spell on You

The black and metallic cake – perfect for a Halloween wedding – shimmered under Soundwave’s cake pinspot. Erika and Dustin cut their cake to I Put a Spell on You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. And finally, it was time for everyone to hit the dance floor! The lights dimmed and the energy amped up as guests were encouraged to hit the dance floor to all of their favorite songs. Guests were able to request songs, and a mix of fun favorites kept the party going well into the night. Late snacks were served before the final dance to Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
