High School Sweethearts Marry At Sterling Event Venue

High school sweethearts, Dylan and Selest, were married at Sterling Event Venue. Joined by 115 family and friends, the couple said ‘I do’ on a Thursday late afternoon in February. It was a beautiful Orlando winter day that felt more like Spring. Balmy temperatures and bright sunshine set the tone for a perfect day for these two sweeties.

Groom Is The Son of Soundwave Entertainment
After 22 years in the Orlando wedding business, Soundwave Entertainment owners Les and Wendy Kopasz finally got to be in a wedding…a wedding that happened to be their son’s, Dylan. The stunning couple began dating in high school, before either of them could drive! Their love story began with their first encounter at school in Windermere.  Then the first kiss on the porch of Selest’s parents home.  Several years later, Dylan surprised Selest with a commitment ring given at Christmas.  It was clear from the early stages of teenage love, these two sweeties were destined for marriage.

European Inspired Venue Was The Bride’s Pick
Tucked away on 23 acres of pristine beauty, Sterling Event Venue is nestled among the rolling hills of Minneola, a suberb of Orlando. Located on the west side of the city, with the shores of Lake Apopka in the background, the Tuscan-style venue provides an oasis of rustic elegance, stonework, and Italian Cypress trees. It was the ONLY venue Selest and Dylan toured, and being a new venue in Orlando, it was an easy choice to say yes and lock it in!

Ceremony Takes Place In Stately Wood Gazebo
Perhaps the most stunning ceremony site in Central Florida, Sterling’s wedding location is breathtaking. Nestled within the trees, surrounded by gardens and manicured grounds, sits the stately all wood a-frame gazebo.  A winding walkway from the ballroom to the altar greets guests with a gently trickling water stream.

The gorgeous bride wore a timeless a-line white wedding dress with plummeting sweetheart neckline. Layered tulle, crystals and lavish embellishments adorned the cascading train. Selest’s makeup and hair, by Laura Reynolds Artistry Hair & Makeup Team, perfectly appointed.

Both sets of parents escorted their children down the aisle, a modern trend. The ceremony was led by Sensational Ceremonies, Harry Rubi, who recited the celebration in English and Spanish. One of the sweet moments of the ceremony took place during the vows.  The Bride got a little choked up and hesitated for what seemed like eternity before she said ‘I do.’ Dylan, anxiously awaiting her response, out loud laughed as he stated ‘Gosh, you scared me, I thought you changed your mind!’  Needless to say, everyone shared a giggle.

The Striking Ballroom
As the sun began to set, cocktail hour ended and guests ushered into the ballroom.  A mix of round and wood farm tables, supplied by RW Events, adorned the room.  The abundant floral, by Lee Forrest Design, featured mostly white mixed flowers and roses, with soft pops of pink.

The table decor was elegantly mixed with an abundance of candles. Some tables had candelabras with low centerpieces, while other floral was adorned on top of gold stands. The farm tables were staples in the room with oversized white flowered trees providing height to the room. All perfectly balanced in harmony with the crystal chandeliers and wood beamed ceiling.  Thank you Lee Forrest for amazing talent! Details were carefully planned and executed by Elite Celebrations.

Soundwave Entertainment provided DJ services, with DJ Dennis kicking off the night and DJ Justin taking over midway.  Soundwave also provided Lighting Design, Photo Booth, and Special Effects. LED Wall Uplighting, Centerpiece Pinspotting, Texture In Lights on the focal wall, Moving Heads and Spark Fountains wow’d guests.

Good friends of Soundwave, Get Lit, provided the jet black LED Dance Floor.  Event Lit provided the ‘KOPASZ’ marquee letters.

The Celebration
Before the dance party kicked off, guests enjoyed a stellar meal by Big City Catering.  The couple’s menu included Caesar Salad, Prime Rib, Mexican and Pasta Station, and Potato Bar. The lavish cake, by Sugar Sugar Cake Boutique, stood 7 tiers high positioned on a tall table behind the couple creating a picturesque background to the newlyweds sweetheart table.

The 3 hour dance party was broken down into 2 parts, traditional wedding songs for the first hour and then nightclub vibes geared especially to the liking of the younger crowd. Glowing LED bang sticks, neon light up glasses and blinking floral crowns for the ladies added to the festivities. Soundwave Entertainment brought in all the extras including high end RCF Speaker System and Subwoofers for some serious sound and bass, not your typical wedding set up!

From pre-ceremony cocktails at 4:00, to private last dance, and Spark Fountain Exit at 11pm, it was an epic celebration for these high school sweethearts at Sterling Event Venue. Congrats to the new Mr and Mrs Kopasz!!!
